The image captures one of the permeant sculptures by California-based artist Loren Madsen, a pioneer of data sculptures, that is to say forms shaped through data (historical, political, social fonts, etc.). District 5 is located in Chicago in front of a police station and it relates to the decline of crime rates in the city through the last decades. Information, code language and sculpture come together to visualize invisible data, compressing a fragment of history into one form.
