What happens when from some materpieces the characters disappear? This is the provocation by José Manuel Ballester, Spanish painter and photographer who, since the Nineties, has been recognizing his technique with a combination of painting and photography. The empty spaces are fullfilled with imagination. Moreover, the interruption of a passive reception, accustomed to the recognizability of the works, continuously bounced trough the media, opens to a vision from another perspective.
