Luigi Pagliarini's Planet. Interspecies

On 20 July 2024,“ Interspecie Pagliarini Planet”, an exhibition curated by Nilo Casares and conceived in memory of Luigi Pagliarini, a visionary artist and expert in software art and art robotics, opened at the Clap Museum in Pescara.

The group show, promoted by Fondazione Pescarabruzzo with the support of the Cultural Association Planet Mind, will involve nine artists who have intersected Luigi’s professional path and forged elective affinities with him. The artists identified represent a variety of approaches and practices in contemporary art, ranging from visual art to the use of new technologies, highlighting how art can dialogue with and respond to the cultural and technological changes of our time.

The Interspecies theme is based on the short story Riconversione Umana (Human Conversion) by Catia Verna, chosen by curator Nilo Casares because of the close implication of contemporary theories on transhumanism, the same ones present in Luigi Pagliarini’s scientific research, according to which all the organisms that make up the Universe are equally relevant to the existence of the Universe itself, and are all the ultimate reason for its uniqueness. In the most radical theory of transhumanism, the flame of a candle participates in the same knowledge of the Universe that a Human Being can have, and the network that is established between all the components is the reason why the Universe stands, facilitating a transition from one state to another without the slightest surprise, revealing a strong interconnectedness. Much of this vision can be found in the fable Planet Mind, one of Luigi Pagliarini’s latest works, on show together with other video works that reveal the eclecticism, depth of field and avant-garde nature of the artist’s work.
