Blooming Festival will shortly light up a the enchanting the small town of Pergola in the Italian region of Marche, bringing Italian creativity at the cross with innovation on its own territory.
“Blooming Festival – we learn from the press release – arises from the desire to encourage different artistic approaches to research in the sphere of digital culture, music and electronic art, and to open the way for the enrichment of audience receptiveness and active participation in the new languages of art. The term Blooming itself highlights the renaissance of the digital arts in the peninsula. Italian artists, makers, coders and designers are emerging from the underground and showing us an explosion of magnificent, kaleidoscopic creativity in shape and colour. Blooming Festival takes place throughout the historic centre of Pergola, with interactive installations and live performances in various venues around the town which are usually closed to the public and only opened on rare occasions.
Places of worship, hidden spaces and underground venues are enlivened with screenings, images and sound to stimulate wonder and curiosity. Digital arts become the common thread that links artistic disciplines and techniques from the past with those of the present. The wine cellar that hosts light effects and interactive video projections is a symbol and a vision of a positive and multi-faceted future which does not renounce the past but tends towards the sharing of knowledge, the broadcasting of rituals and techniques, which are seeds for the blooming of present and future.
Blooming highlights the renaissance of the digital arts in the peninsula. Young artists, sound artists, makers, coders and designers are showing us an explosive blooming of a quality rarely encountered in terms of shape and colour, and all Made in Italy. Digital, numerical and contemporary arts contrast with the festival’s rural setting to become a place of fusion between different artistic disciplines, between past and present.” The Artistic Direction is entrusted to Quiet Ensemble, a duo that is establishing itself in the international scene (we just saw it in Barcellona at Sonar Festival with anonymous rapper Liberato) and that does not loose sight of its own territory with everything is inspired by the beauty of its Nature. Pergola and the region of Marche is a unique example of the kind.
