Saturday 26 November 2022 at 18.00, in Ascoli Piceno at the Officine Brandimarte Art Space, the exhibition TriggerBeats opens with works by artists Demian Battisti (Mr. BD), Ado Brandimarte, Stefano Iampieri, Iacopo Pinelli, together with Luigi Pagliarini.
TriggerBeats, an exhibition and choral manifesto stemmed from the exchange between four young artists at the height of their creativity and Luigi Pagliarini, takes shape within the spaces of Officine Brandimarte, the original headquarters of a construction company of the same name, from 2021 converted to a space for contemporary experimentation.
Five works, neither sculptures nor robots, but both at the same time, welcome visitors by guiding them into the heart of technology and its processes. Here, in the work-viewer relationship, a forward-looking vision is constructed, capable of involving anyone and everyone, and leaving no escape. Tradition and the future, sculpture and robotics are tradition and future, sculpture and robotics are intertwined in an entirely novel encounter.
In a genuinely punk spirit, the world of Technology is overturned from within, turned upside down; the chain of progress is diverted. Classic canons and parameters of sculpture, robotics, technology and life are overturned from the inside. By regaining awareness of his fragility, man becomes attuned to the tension of life, of time.
TriggerBeats, thus, sees the emergence of new robotic figures. Figures that grow and recognise themselves in the processes, outside their utilitarian paths. Art in this context, therefore, returns to the disciplines of ‘making’. Ecology, recycling and craftsmanship form the “skin” of the new robot and the new robotic sculpture that brings it into the world.
This milestone, achieved thanks partly to the involvement of Officine Bradimarte’s artisanal history, is the beginning of new paths and visions arising from the paths of consciousness, ‘quantum matter’ that recognises the power of man over mechanics and Artificial Intelligence.
