Green Cube Gallery presents THE STRUGGLE IS REAL, a series of artists’ deathmatches curated by CLUSTERDUCK and played in Fondazione Spara — an online multiplayer first-person shooter video game by Riccardo Rudi and Superinternet.
THE STRUGGLE IS REAL aspires to be an open and participatory performance on the physical and mental condition of digital artists today. A space where artists are invited to share their frustrations over the hyper-competitive art world. A space to meet, curse, talk and try to survive.
A selection of 34 international digital artists will face each other in seven elimination matches, lasting 15 minutes and located in the stunning virtual area of Fondazione Spara, a 3D model psychedelic revisitation of Fondazione Prada in Milan. The matches will play as FPS deathmatches arming artists with infinite ammo rifles and infinite respawns. The more the artist will kill, the more the artist will hold the pole position, increasing the possibilities to win and get the phantasmic prize: a 500€ Artist Fee.
Audiences from all over the world are invited to participate and support their favourite artist through the Twitch stream events on Green Cube Gallery’s website from November 25th – date of the first two matches – to December 16th, date of the final match.
