Deep Meditations, the immersive film by artist, researcher and coder Memo Atken, result of a collaborative and trans-disciplinary research, was presented yesterday to the public of the Sónar Festival in Barcellona. Meditative journey and invite to contemplation of images that unfold from the imagination of a neural network fed with some images found through the tag: everything and others labelled with words, such as life, love, art, faith, ritual, worship, god, nature, universe, cosmos.
Sound is generated by a neural network trained on hours of religious and spiritual chants, prayers and rituals from around the world, extrapolated from the internet through YouTube.
