The Wound of the Possible: Art, Futurity, and Non-Human Agency is a call for papers published by Noema, dedicated to the role of art in imagining futures beyond anthropocentrism. The call invites artists, researchers and curators to reflect on artificial intelligence, bioart, ecologies, non-human agencies and speculative practices as tools for the production of knowledge. Interdisciplinary contributions exploring the transformations of creativity and authorship in the era of ecological and technological crises are welcome. Abstracts in English must be submitted by 1 September 2026.
Noema is an online journal (ISSN 2283-3145), one of the first to address the relationships between technology, science, culture and society. Online since March 2000, its roots date back to the 1990s, when, in March 1994, a small group at the University of Bologna published NetMagazine/MagNet (1994–98), Italy’s first online magazine, which has been cited in books, courses and conferences. In 2003, Noema was selected by RAI International as the best Italian cultural website.
