Biennale College is the Venice Biennale project dedicated to training and supporting young people in all artistic sectors and in the activities of Biennale’s organizational structure. Already active in the sectors of Cinema, Dance, Music, Theater and Historical Archives, Biennale College was created with the aim of promoting young talents, offering them to work in contact with Masters for the development of “creations” that will become part of the artistic sector’s programs. The works will be presented, out of competition, in the context of the 59th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, Il latte dei sogni/ The Milk of Dreams, curated by Cecilia Alemani.
The call is reserved for young emerging artists under 30 from all over the world (who have not turned 31 on the deadline for submitting applications), who have participated in at least one group exhibition and whose work has been dedicated at least a personal exhibition in exhibition spaces recognized nationally and / or internationally.
12 projects will be selected and the artists will be invited to participate in a 10-day workshop dedicated to the development of the proposed projects, which will take place in Venice in October 2021.
The workshop, which will alternate individual and group moments, will be coordinated by the Director of the Visual Arts Sector, Cecilia Alemani, together with curators and artists, tutors and mentors directly involved in the development of projects with the participants.
At the end of the workshop the artists will have 3 weeks to work on the projects and deliver a final proposal. On the evaluation of the materials Cecilia Alemani will select up to four projects, which will have access to a maximum contribution of 25,000 euros for the realization of the final work.
