Dedicated to the close relationship between art and living, this new volume in the Critica Grounds series focuses on a communal narrative that, under the milky way of the συνουσία (i.e. of being together, of union and coexistence, of conversation and discussion), opens up new reflexive quarters on the active and creative participation of the living in the fabric of collectivities.
Curated by Maria Giovanna Mancini and Maria Grazia Porcelli and created ‘as part of the extracurricular didactic activities of the second semester of 2023 of the Department of Research and Humanistic Innovation of the University of Bari “Aldo Moro”’, Arte Civile is “organised in such a way as to host voices and experiences of different subjectivities that today, starting from the work in some cases linked to the territory and in others to the relations between places and people, have developed a personal direction that enhances, through artistic languages, the close network of relationships that nourishes the community that acts, transforming it, in the public sphere”.

«Critical Grounds», the Arshake’s publishing project directed by Antonello Tolve and Stefania Zuliani, is born from the desire to network precious and of great cultural interest books in open source electronic format. It is, in fact, a shelf which, together with the re-release of untraceable or forgotten essays, spreads rumors of the international critical scene to offer a wide-ranging look at the culturological contemporary landscape. Alongside this program “Critical Grounds” also proposes artist books, new authors and new voices of fiction to share with its authors and its readers a wide choice of assumptions, guidelines, designs on the creative area of the near future.
