FRAME proposes an image that leads to the app released for the Taiwan Pavillon in Venice, realised by artist She Lea Cheang in team with her curator, philosopher Paul B. Preciado. “3x3x6” explores the themes of imprisonment and of surveillance and it does so in the frame of Palazzo delle Prigioni that hosts the Pavillon. “3x3x6” refers to the 9 square meters and to the six video-surveillance camera that monitors them. Will talk more in depth about the installation. Meanwhile, we invite you to download the App that brings the Pavillon into your pockets “so it’s delocalized as well, just as surveillance is delocalized today”, as the curator claims within an interview released to Francesco Tenaglia for the Magazine Mousse (“3x3x6”: Shu Lea Cheang and Paul B. Preciado, Mousse online, May 2019).
