FRAME captures and proposes the image of L’Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped, project by Christo (1935-2020), who has recently died, and that is going to be unveiled in Paris in September 18, 2020. Arc de Triomphe conquers further visibility and power through its disappearance as much as Christo’s work does with his departure. The project was entirely funded by Christo through the sale of his preparatory studies, drawings and collages of the project as well as scale models, works from the 1950s and 1960s and original lithographs on other subjects. It will receive no public funds. As a prelude to L’Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped, a major exhibition, presented at the Centre Georges Pompidou, will retrace Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s years in Paris from 1958 to 1964, as well as the story of The Pont Neuf Wrapped, Project for Paris, 1975-85.
