FRAME captures Diplomazija astuta, image of the installation by Arcangelo Sassolino, Giuseppe Schembri Bonaci and the composer Brian Schembri that represents the Malta Pavillon at the 59th Venice Biennale. Caravaggio’s masterpiece, La decollazione di San Giovanni Battista (1608), preserved in the Oratory of St. John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta, is now revisited in a modern key. The tragedy is the one of progress, represented by molten steel that melts in water, disappearing the darkness in a sort of cathartic process.
