Hatnote is a volunteer-run design studio, organized around Wikipedia as a social and data platform. In this frame, Stephen LaPorte and Mahmoud Hashemi realize a project that transforms the content of Wikipedia into musical melodies. Bells indicate additions and string plucks indicate subtractions. Pitch changes according to the size of the edit the larger the edit, the deeper the note. The process of translation employs quantitative parameters related to data. In our case, Frame captures a musical melody to be tasted by sight.
