FRAME captures The Hidden Life of an Amazon User by Joana Moll, a journey into the labyrinth of Amazon’s interfaces and code that the user inevitably crosses at any purchase. Moll reveals and quantifies the invisible code that is produced and that acts in favour of Amazon’s incredible influence on consumers. The code that is made visibile by Moll refers to her purchase of Jeff Bezos’ biography, founder of Amazon, that conducted her through 12 different interfaces, an enormous amount of code employed to optimize the style, content, interactivity, and record a customer’s activity.
