While the world strives to capture data and to preserve them as long as possible, PanGenerator’s installation portraits obsolescence in its nude nature. Visitors send a selfie through a mobile web page and appear on the screen that face them. A face detection algorithm dilutes and dissolves the pixels that shape his or her profile into ‘virtual particles’ that starts to fall down as rain until they dissolve. Obsolescence is portrayed with our very same profile that disappear at the same speed with which they were formed. It is not by chance that the installation was realized for an Ethnographic Museum, precisely the National Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw as a part of TEEN AGE exhibition.
