Solar Equation is a work of public art by Rafael Lozano Hemmer realized in 2010 commissioned by Light in Winter Festival in Melbourne. The video documents the installation with which Hemmer faithfully reproduced the Sun, 100 million times smaller than the real one. The animation projected on the balloon surface, simulating a turbulence, was generated by mathematical equations overlaid to NASA images with the possibility of being interfered via iPhone, iPod touch o iPad, throughout a dedicated application.
