VIDEO POST captures The Shy Machine by Daric Gill: a motion activated, sound reactive, environmentally adaptive, kinetic light sculpture. Part of a series of «Living Machines», this sculpture is activated by the human presence. When the room is too noisy, the two parts it shapes from close. At this point, the machine-sculpture displays a nervous pulsing of multi-colored light. It is a living object and its behaviour resembles human shyness, as suggested by the title of the work.
