When: The workshops will take place from September 1 to 9. At the end of the research and co-design activities (September 9, 2021), the presentation of the XYZ outputs will be given, while also inaugurating the exhibition-event of Con.divisione 10, which will last 4 days (September 9-12), at the same time as the Patronal Festival of Mola di Bari.

The star-shaped fortress is located on the city waterfront and spreads over 1000 square meters indoors and 400 square meters of outdoor courtyard; being a gateway to the central square, it is an obvious urban and social reference.

Officina dell’Arte – APS will inaugurate a two-year management period of some spaces of the Angevin-Aragonese Castle of Mola di Bari through a great event that will combine the Con.divisione artists’ residency (now in its tenth edition) with the XYZ research and co-design workshops, organized by La Scuola Open Source.
Those enrolled in the XYZ laboratories will participate in the activities divided into 3 working groups, managed by teachers and tutors who will coordinate the design of the identity, spaces and governance of this new cultural production center.

During the residency, the artists will work alongside the participants and teachers of the workshops, in a liquid and trans-disciplinary context. In addition, the artists will be in charge of some experimental teachings, which will be preparatory and transversal to the XYZ laboratories.
The co-design experience will end on 9th September with a final presentation of the outputs of the XYZ laboratories and the inauguration of the exhibition-event, the result of the Con.divisione artists’ residency, which will be open to the public until 12th September.
Enrollment:
- To take part in the X, Y or Z workshops it is necessary to fill out the form at this link by 11.59 pm on August 10, 2021;
- The three workshops are free and open to everybody;
- To be selected, participants need to provide a motivation letter, a CV [mandatory] and a Portfolio [optional].
The list of selected participants will be published on the La Scuola Open Source website on August 14, 2021 together with the reasons behind the selection.
