VIDEO POST proposes Energy Flow a project by Andrea Polli, pioneer environmental artist, in collaboration with Ron Gdovic of WindStax, a Pittsburgh-based wind turbine manufacturer.
After a live dedicated to climate and ecology exploration though sound sonification, it now returns the wind speed and direction as captured in real time by a weather station located on the bridge, into a lighting installation composed of over 27,000 multicolored LED lights positioned along the bridge’s vertical cables. The project was conceived in 2016 as a temporary installation on the Rachel Carson Bridge in order to celebrate the City of Pittsburgh’s Bicentennial. It was then extended for the following two years.
