Music, technology, image and interactivy come together to merge into Alexander Chen’s work. The video records the online interaction by the artist with his Baroque.me, a virtual instrument to play and visualize music under a different structural and rythmic prospective. This time, the instrument plays the the first Prelude from Bach’s Cello Suites. «Using the mathematical relationship between string length and pitch explains the artist it came from a simple idea: what if all the notes were drawn as strings? Instead of a stream of classical notation on a page, this interactive project highlights the music’s underlying structure and subtle shift».
